OK, so the last attempt to get back on the bike failed miserably, mainly because I have been sick with what I now know is a virus (to quote the doctor: there's nothing you can do about it!). It left me with a lovely cough which was making it hard to sleep, or in fact do anything which involved raising my heart rate above resting rate!
Anyway, started to feel a bit better over the weekend, and managed the ACG ramble around West Wycombe yesterday so decided to try again today.
The target: 10 miles (and still have some sort of lung capacity left for breathing normally!!)
The result: SUCCESS!!! Despite the wind and rain, I comfortably managed 10 miles along the main road through Benson and into Dorchester.
The first 5 miles were pretty painful mainly because of 2 weeks off the bike and the fact that I was riding straight into a strong wind, but the return leg was a little easier.
Next session: 10 miles on Wed

Wednesday target met! Actually 10.4miles in the end. Felt harder today as I chose a slight more *undulating* route! Chuffed to have done it though - was also racing against the clock because it was starting to get dark!
